Plot: “Chop Chop” Frankie Carbone (Armand Assante) has made a career out of stealing cars for the mob in Chicago. An attempted assassination by a mob boss goes badly and Frankie retaliates, only to wind up in the hands of the Feds. Frankie agrees to testify against the mobsters and his life is suddenly worthless – unless he submits to going into federal protection. The FBI gives him a new name – Howard Akers – and relocates him to a sleepy middle-class suburb in Little Rock, AR. Howard catches the attention of his lovely neighbor, Leigh (Angela Featherstone), a bored fund-raiser for a non-profit zoo whose husband, Dennis (David Lipper), is having an affair – and she knows it, but she doesn’t know it’s with her hot-blooded sister, Bootsie (Dina Meyer). Leigh becomes friends with the enigmatic Howard, but Dennis and Bootsie see an opportunity to earn the million-dollar bounty the mob has put on his head by turning him in to the mob.

Is the Constitution Party moderate or conservative?
I am a moderate, and I dislike both the Republican and Democratic parties. Even the Libertarian party is not for me. The Constitutional Party, however, is the only well-known American Party I can fully support even though I do not agree with their stance on states’ rights. Here are their basic principles:

Seven Principles of the Constitution Party are:

Life: For all human beings, from conception to natural death;
Liberty: Freedom of conscience and actions for the self-governed individual;
Family: One husband and one wife with their children as divinely instituted;
Property: Each individual’s right to own and steward personal property without government burden;
Constitution: and Bill of Rights interpreted according to the actual intent of the Founding Fathers;
States’ Rights: Everything not specifically delegated by the Constitution to the federal government, nor prohibited by the Constitution to the states, is reserved to the states or to the people;
American Sovereignty: American government committed to the protection of the borders, trade, and common defense of Americans, and not entangled in foreign alliances.

In your opinion, is this party conservative or moderate? (It is certainly more liberal than the Republican Party.)

On their web-site they state they are neither conservative nor liberal. However if you believe in a smaller Federal Government, and believe that the Bill of Rights are all individual rights, and are pro-life…they definitely lean more to the right (conservative).

The only area they tend to lean a bit to the left is concerning our involvement in foreign wars without a formal Constitutional declaration of war. They disagree with the wars and our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I’m strongly considering joining this party and I’ve never been a formal member of a political party, though I generally voted Republican. The Republican Party has lost it’s spine and comprimised it’s platform and principles.

Conservative. And they’re actually quite a bit to the right of the GOP.

Moderate still denotes a spark of life.

They are more….bland-ish.

Conservative…Constitution Party is close to the "Christian Party" that holds the Consitution along side the Bible.

(It is impossible to "interpret" the intent of a dead person…puh-leez…see how well its worked since that Galilean Jew died almost 2000 years ago?)

It depends what you mean. I am a Ron Paul Republican and I consider myself quite conservative. The GOP tends to consider me conservative. Those on the left aren’t quite sure what to make of me and sometimes call me ‘moderate’ which I consider unintentionally offensive, to be honest.

I consider the Constitution party conservative.

I do like the constitution party but I think they go a little too far with religion. Moral values will naturally develop in a free society not dependent on government because they’ll rely on each other and have a sense of community.

I would call them conservative.

Philosophically I’m a Libertarian, but I don’t agree with the Libertarian Party.

Think of the Libertarian Party as being fiscally conservative but socially liberal. If you were to quantify it that way, then the Constitution Party is both fiscally and socially conservative.

We declare the platform of the Constitution Party to be predicated on the principles of

The Declaration of Independence,
The Constitution of the United States and
The Bill of Rights

According to the original intent of the Founding Fathers, these founding documents are the foundation of our Liberty and the Supreme Law of the Land.

The sole purpose of government, as stated in the Declaration of Independence, is to secure our unalienable rights given us by our Creator. When Government grows beyond this scope, it is usurpation, and liberty is compromised.

We believe the major issues we face today are best solved by a renewed allegiance to the original intent of these founding documents.

That is the party platform. It sounds to me like it would be conservative. That is a plus because I do not believe a lot of what congress is trying to do right now is actually constitutional.

I’d say it’s conservative. I’m pretty conservative and those statements reflect my general beliefs, especially the one about the Constitution.

This is what the republican party used to be and not the libertarian party. They’re very very conservative.
