Platoon
|
IMDB rating: 8.20 Plot: Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen) is a young, naive American who gives up college and volunteers for combat in Vietnam. Upon arrival, he quickly discovers that his presence is quite nonessential, and is considered insignificant to the other soldiers, as he has not fought for as long as the rest of them and felt the effects of combat. Chris has two commanding officers, the ill-tempered and indestructible Staff Sergeant Robert Barnes (Tom Berenger) and the more pleasant and cooperative Sergeant Elias Grodin (Willem Dafoe). A line is drawn between the two officers and a number of men in the platoon when an illegal killing occurs during a village raid. As the war continues, Chris himself draws towards psychological meltdown. And as he struggles for survival, he soon realizes he is fighting two battles, the conflict with the enemy and the conflict between the men within his platoon. |

Marine Corps Boot Camp/ The Physical Conditioning platoon?
Could someone please give a general run down of what to expect during the first week of reception and if worst comes to worst what to expect if your sent to the Physical Conditioing Platoon? I’m having some trouble with my run time, I’m only off by 30 seconds on the entire run. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve tried several different approaches to improve my run time, I’ve ran sprints, speed intravals, ran hills and nothing seems to work.
Why are you even thinking about the PCP platoon? You do know only you can get yourself sent there, right?
I suggest you log off the internet and go run. And them keep doing this until you are ready to ship out.
Worrying about crap like this will do nothing for your run time.

You shouldnt be expecting to go to the PCP. Get that off your mind and MOTIVATE yourself!! Ask your recruiter to PT you multiple times a week and tell him to treat you like a DI would treat a Recruit. get that run time down and good luck man!

The Pork Chop Platoon, dont fail yourself and end up PCP. Your joining the Marine Corp to be the baddest mother fu*cker out there, you need to be ready, learn your rank structure learn your General Orders and be in shape. Get out and run, get your recruiter to help motivate and run with you. If you do end up in the PCP grow thick skin and be prepared to be motivated by any means.
Good luck, atleast you didnt puss out and join the army

If at all possible put off boot camp until you can get in better shape. You do not want to go to the pork chop platoon.. I would not suggest going to boot camp unless you can run 1.5 miles in under 12 mins. Remember you will need to get under at least 23 mins or so in the 3 mile run in about 6 weeks.. I spent 6 months on Parris Island with stress fractures, I can tell you just about anything you will want to know about it. Feel free to email me..
