I'm married to a U.S citizen and waiting for my green card..can I join US Navy?
I just got married and filed my papers for green card. I assume it’s gonna take like a year or so to get one. I always wanted to be in Navy and I’m confused about my status and recruiting policies.
I heard that you have to have green card in order to get in but I also heard(read in few columns) that
talkin to a recruiter can speed up process. Is it true?
Both can’t be right and I’ll be more than happy if someone enlightens this situation.

Qualifying for the MAVNI program requires you to be here for at least two years and have a critical skill the military is looking for in the language or medical field. If that doesn’t apply to you then you have to wait for your Green Card, you won’t be able to join on just a visa.

Its a well thought out scenario and I expect he is right on most points. Why we are blindly driving this country down a dead end street at full speed is a mystery but it sure seems to be happening. The scariest part are the people that think it is the right path! It possibly is depending on what your end point is but financial and social collapse is not my idea of fun.
